In 2001 Sunflower Hostel Berlin opened its doors for guests from all over the world – an island of budget accommodation, independent and unaffiliated w/ the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). Sunflower Hostel still embraces the idea of "Old School" attitude of offering a bed in a central location and a multicultural, creative and colourful environment, where communication, cultural exchange and meeting other travelling guests is more important than a television in the room.

Located in Friedrichshain, neighboured by Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte and Kreuzberg, it offers the perfect starting point for your exploration of Berlin. All tourist attractions are either in walking distance (Karl-Marx-Allee, the East Side Gallery and Oberbaum Bridge), or can easily be reached with public transportation.

Friedrichshain itself is known for its great variety of culture, leisure- and nightlife. Numerous bars, cafés, theatres and eateries to suit every budget, as well as legendary clubs such as the “Berghain”, “Cassiopeia”, “Maria am Ostbahnhof”, “Watergate“, Matrix”, “Rosi’s” and many others are all close by.
